The relationship between the Management and students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, has been described as cordial and mutually rewarding.
The Acting Dean of Student Affairs Division, Dr. Olusegun Owolewa, said this while fielding questions from the crew of the University Information Unit.
Owolewa said AAUA’s student leadership has a long history of clement relationship with the University Management, and that the present administration has greatly enhanced the relationship.
His words, “The Management of Adekunle Ajasin University has always placed the interest and welfare of the student population on the front burner. This attitude has become a matter of culture which this administration is particularly enhancing. And I must tell you that the crop of student leaders that we have are responsible ones who believe more in dialogue as a potent way of resolving issues”.
The Dean said the University was particularly interested in the welfare of its students, including the new executives of AAUA Student Union for whom it has scheduled a leadership training retreat- the University’s annual programme.
He explained that plans are underway towards making the new session a pleasant experience for the new and the returning students.
“AAUA truly cares about the welfare of her students. Even now, it is working on a synergy which is hoped to deliver a palliative programme to the indigent students.
Also, the University has scheduled a leadership training programme from which the student union leaders, executives of faculties, departments and associations would benefit. The whole essence of the training is to imbue them with requisite leadership skills to face the tasks ahead”, he said.
