Reknown human right lawyer and the National Secretary of the independent campaign organization for President Buhari’s reelection, Forward With Buhari, Barr. Kayode Ajulo, has reacted to the planned defection of some members of the Ondo State House of Assembly from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
Ajulo, in a statement he personally signed, urged the aggrieved lawmakers to stay in the Party for the sake of Nigeria, good governance and overlook the present discomfort and discountenance of their welfare by the government assuring them that the constitution as recently amended guarantees their independence.
He said, “For the love of Nigeria and the yearning of teaming Nigerians to re-elect Buhari, I urge them to hang on, as we are in touch with the party leadership and respected leaders to ensure their grievances are allayed.”
“The era of believing that some people don’t matter has ended. We can’t afford to lose one member now, not to talk of Hon. Members representing their people. this is the time we are wooing members of another party to vote for Buhari, we therefore cannot afford to lose a single vote for President Buhari, he added.
Ajulo, while saying he’s in touch with the aggrieved legislators, calls on spirited Nigerians and elders to dialogue with the legislators.
